Class instruction focuses on a form of Cuban dance called Casino. Each class begins with casino footwork and strongly emphasizes timing and foot placement before moving into partner dancing. The partner dancing segment of each class is taught in a rueda de casino style format.
Rueda de Casino
Rueda de Casino was developed in Havana, Cuba in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It is a fun and energetic form of salsa that requires pairs of dancers to form a circle or “rueda” and a caller signals what move will be next, including switching partners.
